Description

Embarkation time at 09:30am in Mykonos (or at 08:30am in Tinos).

One of our cruise representatives will greet you and give you an overview of the cruise itinerary. Our dedicated crew will welcome you on board with a traditionally inspired refreshing drink and show you around the spacious and elegant vessel. Important safety information will follow aboard.

We set sail at 10:00am (or at 09:00am from Tinos) heading to the center of the Cyclades, the UNESCO-listed Island of Delos, one of the most important archaeological sites of Greek history for our Licensed Guided Tour, located a few miles south-west from Mykonos. We spend about 1½ hour with our professional English-speaking guide exploring the staggering array of ancient ruins and visiting the museum. On your free time, you can walk up Mount Kynthos (367 feet high) and admire the stunning panoramic view of the Cycladic Archipelago.

The next stop is at the untouched island of Rhenia, separated from Delos by a small strait. Dropped anchor in the idyllic bay surrounded by crystal clear turquoise waters, enjoy a refreshing swimming. Snorkeling gear is also available on board.

A wonderfully spacious outdoor environment on board the 112-foot long motor-sailer yacht allows you to never feel confined and enjoy sunbathing on comfortable deck cushions. Tends for shadow from the sun are also available. A feast of traditional Greek flavours for lunch is served on a Mediterranean style seated buffet with aromatic flowing wine, beers and soft drinks.

We are ready at 04:00pm to sail back to Mykonos. Arrival is scheduled by 05:00pm. We will say goodbye in the Greek way with a farewell shot drink toast and returning at your accommodation by private transfer, full of euphoria for having shared with you our Greece, whose destiny is bound to the sea and sailing is the best way to experience it!

For participants who are checking-out from their accommodation in Tinos, the private transfer service is offered only for the drop-off route and they need to make their own arrangement in order to meet us at the embarkation point in Tinos island.

Weather Conditions

Mykonos is nicknamed “Island of Winds”. The Cyclades - the complex of islands where Mykonos belongs to - have been geographically shaped from the phenomenon of wind called “Meltemi”. Every summer the low barometric pressure from the Balkans clashes with the higher hot blasts from Africa and in this way the north wind of “Meltemi” is formed. Thus, the wind in Mykonos is completely normal and part of the lifestyle of both locals and visitors. It will ultimately leave its mark on your own Mykonos holiday album. According to the weather during the cruise, the selected beaches for swimming are the most protected ones and less windy. After all, this is also the experience of being on a sailing yacht, setting the sails to the wind needed as it is the primary engine power. Occasionally during the season there might not be enough wind or the convenient wind direction to set sails and only in such cases, the sailing route will be motorized.

When is swimming time ?

After exploring Delos, we sail to the secluded island of Rhenia, where we make a 2-hour stop in an idyllic bay with refreshingly cool turquoise waters. This is the perfect opportunity to swim, snorkel and sunbathe on the yacht’s comfortable deck cushions in a wonderfully spacious outdoor setting. For added comfort, shaded areas are available on board.
For a truly immersive experience, you can also swim to the nearby sandy beach. Please note that Rhenia has no pier facilities but the captain will anchor as close as possible to shore and you can access the water via the yacht’s swimming ladder.

Is the guided tour of Delos included in the package ?

Yes, a private guided tour of Delos is included in the package. You will be accompanied by a licensed and professional guide who will take you through the archaeological site, offering insight into its fascinating ruins and the museum. The tour lasts about 1½ hours. Afterward, you will have free time to explore the island, including the option to hike up Mount Kynthos (367 feet) for a stunning panoramic views of the Cyclades Archipelago.

What is the dress code for Delos tour ?

The dress code for the Delos tour is modest and respectful of the sacred site. It is recommended to wear walk shorts, pants, or t-shirts. Comfortable, closed, non-slip shoes are essential for exploring the site safely. Do not forget to bring a sun hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and long sleeves for protection, as Delos is known for being one of the sunniest and brightest places on Earth — it is the birthplace of Apollo, after all!

Will the transfer service be arranged both in Mykonos and Tinos ?

Yes! Your private transfer service by a lux A/C vehicle will be arranged from/to your accommodation in Mykonos. In case you are checking out from your accommodation in Tinos, the private transfer service is provided only for the drop-off route in Mykonos and you need to make your own arrangement in order to meet us at the embarkation point in Tinos island.
