Tinos Island, named as the “Muse of the Aegean” and “Island of Aeolus”, with almost 50 traditional villages, rich culture, gastronomy and countless choices, is the third largest island in the Cyclades after Naxos and Andros Islands.

It belongs to the northern Cyclades and lies between Andros Island, from which it is separated by a strait of 0.5 nm, and Mykonos, just 11 nm away.

Tinos has always been a religious-tourism destination luring hordes of people who visit the island for the [Miraculous Icon of] Virgin Mary pilgrimage, an important place of vows. For many years, Tinos drew sophisticated travelers as a result of Costas Tsoclis Museum (2010 opening), exhibiting contemporary art, and the politicians and journalists who fell in love with the island buying houses, while at the same time having the island’s religious tourism.

Tinos, also known for the Tinian marble art (which has been included in the cultural heritage of UNESCO) and the elaborate dovecotes, is the birthplace of the great painter Nikolaos Gyzis and sculptor Yannoulis Chalepas, significant figures of Modern Greek art.
